Spelling Lists

Spelling Lists are given out every Monday.  You can practice your spelling words on Spelling City at www.spellingcity.com.  Spelling Tests are given every Friday and counts as a reading test grade.  Make sure you study and know your words.  Once you have had a word on a spelling test I expect you to spell it correctly in your writing.

Homework

Reading and Language Arts homework is given out every Monday morning with the week's spelling list.

Math homework is given out daily and should be returned the next day.  Usually the students are not required to take their math books home.  If I ask the children to look up math facts they may look up their words online.  www.coolmath.com has a math dictionary.  Click on "Math Dictionary" on the bottom right.  Another good site is http://www.hbschool.com/glossary/math2/index4.html.
The students may also work on math skills by using the Links page.

Homework for Science and/or Social Studies is given out periodically.

The children may also do additional homework
online from my "Links" page.

Students may practice their spelling words on
Spelling City.  The link and directions are below.

Spelling tests made easy

Spelling practice can be done online.

This is a fun way for children to study and learn their spelling words.

How to log in:
1. Go to Find a List.
2. Type in Boston, then search.
3. Click on my name.
4. Select the spelling list for this week.

Reading Log

In fourth grade the reading goal is for each student to read 25 books over the course of the year.  To accomplish this objective we have set a goal for each child to read for 20 minutes each day.  There is no formal AR goal, but students are still encouraged to read and take AR tests.
